Hiking in and around Meran is combined with a very unique charm. Here, where the sunny South and the mountainous North meet, you will find endless hiking options, rich in contrast and spoiled with great views. Comfortable walking paths lead through luscious green orchards, irrigation channels lead along ancient waterways, hiking paths bring you up to altitudes of up to 3,000 metres above sea level in the Texel Group Nature Park. The best reward for hikers: having a traditional snack in a traditional hut.

Guided hikes in Hotel Pollinger - Meran

Once a week we will accompany you to a beautiful location in our hiking area. The tour will be tuned to your personal fitness and hiking mood. We leave at 10 a.m. and will be back to ****Hotel Pollinger in the heart of Meran at about 4 p.m. The journey to the starting point is undertaken by private car. If you do not have a car, host Erich will bring you.

You need:

to be in the mood of hiking, sturdy ankle-high shoes, wind and weather protection clothes. Do not forget your camera!! Following you'll find some hiking proposals:

• Hike to Leadner Hut via Vöran on the alpine plateau of Tschöggelberg. The journey is about 30 minutes by car in the direction of Hafling-Vöran. Walking time starting from guesthouse "Grüner Baum" in Vöran to Leadner Hut and return is about two hours in total.
• Hike to Knottnkino in the Tschöggelberg hiking area. Starting point is the guesthouse "Grüner Baum" in Vöran. From here we will hike via the Schützenbründdlweg Path to Knottnkino, a great panoramic view point, and afterwards we continue to Guesthouse Alpenrose. Return to the point of departure with a shuttle bus. Walking time of about 2.5 hours in total.
• Hike to Waidmannalm Hut in the Meran 2000 hiking area. The journey by car in the direction of Schenna-Hafling to Falzeben takes about 30 minutes. Cable car ride to Piffing. Walking time to Waidmannalm Hut is about 3 hours.
• Hike to Mittagerhütte Hut in the Meran 2000 - Hirzer hiking area. The journey is about 30 minutes by car in the direction of Schenna-Hafling to Falzeben. Cable car ride to Piffing. Walking time to Mittager Hut is about 3 hours in total.
• Hike to Hintereggalm Hut in the Hirzer hiking area. Drive towards Jaufen Pass into the Passeiertal Valley to Saltaus. Take the Hirzer cable cars which will bring you up to approx. 2000 m above sea level. From Klammeben you walk to Hintereggalm Hut in about 1.5 hours. Walking time return is about 3 hours.
• Hut hike to Streitweideralm Hut and Taser Children's Hut in the Hirzer hiking area. Take the Hirzer cable cars in Saltaus in the Passeiertal Valley which will bring you up to approx. 2000 metres above sea level. From Klammeben you hike to Streitweider Hut. After a short break you continue your hike to Taser Hut. Here you can take the Taser cable car to Verdins. Return to the point of departure by bus. Approximate walking time: 3 hours in total.
